Pre-Aboriginal Music Awards Show @ the Tranzac - November 25, 2005

Well, once again the night went without a hitch and the music was fantastic. I finally got a chance to hear the electric version of Nadjiwan and I tell you...it was killer. Bezhig opened the night and played a nice power set which included a David Bowie/Trent Reznor cover "I'm Afraid of American's", I believe it went over quite well. The crowd was very supportive and Bezhig would like to thank all those who came out. The Show Biz Indians closed the night with there usual stellar performance and of course we’d like to thank Cheri Maracle for putting the night together.

We're on Audiri.com - October 20, 2005

Sup peoples, A new music search engine has come to my attention and of course we joined their huge catalog of bands. Go to www.audiri.com/bezhig, check it out to see, listen and rate BEZHIG. Maybe we could get some kind of crazy frenzy happening and BEZHIG could rise to the top of the music world and rule with an iron fist... or not.

Sharing the Love @ the Cameron House - September 17, 2005

It's 3:30am, Saturday morning and I just got home from playing the Cameron House and as usual it was a great night. There were a ton of people packed into the small and cozy club and the other bands were putting out some smokin sets, but this was all just a bonus. The highlight of the night was the great sense of "community". I have to give props to the Native scene... unbelievable!!! We had such a variety of music tonight and yet all bands were received with love and a true respect for their art. During the Digging Roots performance, lead singer Shoshona Kish, said “Nowhere else in Toronto will you find what we have here tonight" and she's right. I'm proud to be a part of the Native scene and especially to be the third member of BEZHIG.

I hope this ride lasts for a very long time and I hope more of you will come out and join us.

By the way, check out the “Music” page for a live track from last night.

Rockin the Canadian Tire and the McD's!!! - September 5, 2005

So, Friday night we headed up to the Danforth Music Festival but not without some kind of drama. As usual we were running late and by the time we arrived, there was another band playing in our spot, so we thought. It turned out to be a misunderstanding and after we cleared that up, went and picked up the P.A., found our spot and set up, we were just itching to play. We rocked the Danforth and at times stopped traffic....O.K. there was a stoplight directly in front of us but that's not how I like to see it. The night was so fun we did it again Saturday afternoon in front of the McD's, sold some CD's made some friends and once again stopped traffic....DAMN it was good!!! All and all it was a great experience and we thank all the new fans that were just walking by. We'd also like to thank the Danforth Music Festival for having Bezhig and we hope to do it again next year.

Folk Punk, Rock Funk, and Heavy Metal @ the Drake!! - July 16, 2005

Last night we played @ the Drake Hotel in good old downtown Toronto. It was a fundraising event for the FUHNatics and there was a whole lotta funding going around. Silent auctions, donations, CD sale donations, I hope they did well.

We shared the stage with two great acts, Mr. Timothy Cameron, a one man show, who's "folkpunk" style took me back to the days of the Clash, Generation X and the early British Punk movement, the man has found a fan in me. The other, a band by the name of The Silenced, ended the night with some serious riff rock. Their new line-up is killer and the tunes are nice and heavy. I've known the boys for quite some time and it was fun to share the stage with the old and new members alike.

Good luck to both of these bands in their future endeavors (sorry Kevin and Shawn) and let's try to support our local Indie talent.

Check out their sites by visiting our "LINKS" page.

We'd like to thank all of you that came to support the mighty Dragon Boaters & all the bands. There was alot of love last night and we hope to see and feel this love more often.

Funkin out at the Revival - July 2, 2005

Last night was quite the night. We had all of 20 people in the club funkin around to BEZHIG. It's a real test when a band has to play to an empty club but I'm proud to say we passed with flying colors. I will always remember a quote I once heard Sting say, that's the Sting from the Police not the tantric solo Sting of today. Anywho, the Police, in their early years, had just finished playing a show at the Elmo and the turnout was dismal. Sting was asked if he would play Toronto again after having such a bad showing. He said that he's never jumped higher or sang harder in his life. He stated that these people paid to see a show and that’s what we gave them. I hope BEZHIG followed in those footsteps last night.

Thanks to all of you for making us step up our game!

It was for the kids - June 9, 2005

Last night was a blast!!! We did an outdoor all ages show in the parking lot of Eastview Junior Public School for the residence of Gabriel Dumont and it was a great experience. We met a ton of cool kids who loved to rock out and have fun. After the show, we handed out CD's and let them play with some of the instruments, especially the drums; they loved it and so did we. Unfortunately we had camera problems and didn't get any pics. These kids would steal your heart. Bezhig would like to thank all of you for coming out and making this event one that we'll never forget.

Clinton's was wicked - May 15, 2005

We would like to thank all of you that came out to the Clinton's show last night. We had a great time and an awesome night opening for the Glendora's and Lovejoy (check out "the indie scene" on our links page). We tested out some new material and rocked the house with the old. For all of you that picked up a CD, we thank you for your support. Enjoy it.
